I received a text message saying the hiring manager would like to connect with me on teams for a data entry position I had applied to. I added her as a contact on teams where she said she would be conducting the interview there. She asked 16 questions for the interview process then said the report was on her desk and HR had viewed it and I was offered the job. It was work from home and she said if I wanted to do work in the office I would have to relocate to Houston, the job paid $20 during training and then $35 an hour after training I would need to make sure I was logged on and all projects were completed on a weekly basis. She then said the company would be sending equipment for an at home office and asked that I send an email to HR with my name, address, phone number, and email. After I sent it she said they would be sending an email with my offer letter and documents I needed to fill out and that this morning I would need to be on teams to meet my training advisor who would be training me. I received another teams link to connect with him where he first asked what position I was hired for and I told him he should know that, then he said they would be sending me a check to purchase the things needed for the home office and when I questioned it he stated it was company procedure to do so. I blocked both people on teams and told him I’m not willing to accept a check.
