Description

I purchased a NetBoost Pro Wifi Extender from the website listed above after reading a comparative blog on WiFi boosters/extenders. The blog rated this booster 9.8/10 as "best of the best" and navigated me to the website listed to purchase it. My first inkling of a scam was that the order confirmation stated the purchase would show up as "spark-tek.co" on my bill. Upon investigation, Spark Tek advertises all kinds of home gadgets that scream poor-quality/scam. I received the booster after about 10 days. The first issue was the booster I received was an UltraXtend WiFi booster which looks different from the one I ordered AND had worse reviews online. Second, after setting up, it did not provide the service it advertised. I have 500 Mbps internet. At the location where I chose to install the booster, the router WiFi had degraded to 175-200 Mbps. Standing next to the booster, the booster provided a mere 28 Mbps and across my 12x12 foot room, the speed from the booster dropped to a pitiful 17 Mbps (my router was still providing 175-200 Mbps across my room). I reached out to Spark Tek with my concerns of both receiving a different booster than the one I purchased and the fact that it was not performing as advertised. Their excuses were that the booster appears differently because they are going through a "re-brand" and that WiFi boosters do not increase speeds, rather, they increase coverage (which the booster I received does neither). I am currently in the process of a refund request. The website I bought the booster from boasts a 30-day money-back guarantee, but I will have to see.
