Description

Long story short, responded to a job offer for data entry. Went through interview process which was lengthy. When offered the position specific equipment was needed such as an iPhone, laptop etc. Total of $9342 was needed for equipment and software. Recruiter wanted me to buy Apple gift cards to purchase equipment and that I would be reimbursed but they needed the card numbers to give their vendor so all could be purchased and sent out. There were already red flags flying, but that solidified it. I asked for an email from her manager so I could verify the legitimacy. I’ve worked in IT industry before. I received an email but it had a google domain address. Luxoft is a technology company and have their own domain name. I never gave out any info other what could be publicly found, so no loss on my part. I’m sure luxoft is a legitimate company, and these scammers were just trying to piggyback on their name.
