Description

BootayBag used to be a legitimate subscription box company to which I have been a member since 2017, but within the last year or two began delivering cheap, mass-produced products rather than the in-house, high-quality designs they were marketed as. Scam #1! Members, including me, were often not notified of what their shipment would contain or whether it was coming at all until their card was charged and the company stopped sending/responding to emails and posting on social media. In November 2024, I received only some of what I ordered from their online shop with no indication of a future shipping date or “out of stock” notice for the rest of my order. As of Jan. 9, 2025 I have not received the product or a refund. Other members have reported being charged for monthly subscription bags that never arrived, with no prior email notification or company-issued refund. In mid-December 2024 I tried to log onto BootayBag’s website in order to check on my order and skip the next month’s subscription, but the website has disappeared and the url is up for auction by GoDaddy (their website hosting company). Their social media accounts have also been deactivated and emails sent to their business address are sent back as undeliverable. No notice of company closure was sent to customers or posted anywhere, nor do I have any assurance that my credit card information, billing address, etc. that was stored in my Member Portal is safe! And, again, I still have not been refunded for products I didn’t receive. It seems their very public-facing CEO, Ellyette Gheno (who even appeared on Shark Tank to fund the company’s expansion in 2020), has also all but disappeared from social media and is running away with as much money as she can take from her loyal subscribers!
