Description
Contacted via text about a job offer for a customer service receptionist position at "RTBHouse". The company is real, but the scammers put together a fake employment contract from an easily recognizable template with the company logo claiming a $38/hr salary and a $17/hr training salary. They directed me to the HR manager on Microsoft teams under the name "Rob Steets", who I corresponded with for 2 days and the interview process was conducted entirely through messaging. I was then extended an offer of employment and signed the w4 and employment contract. I asked to call and introduce myself to confirm the validity of the position, and I received vague messages trying to convince me it was not a scam. The W4 and Employment contract were sent from a woman named "Cheryl Johnson" from the email [email protected]. They attempted to get me to print out and cash checks ranging from $2,500-$3,500 into my personal bank account using mobile deposit. None of the checks cleared, and they attempted to mail them to us, but they never arrived,
