Skillsta bombards people with ads on Social media like Instagram. When I clicked on the link to take the quiz, it immediately asked for my credit card information at the end of the quiz. I provided this information thinking I was obtaining a 30-day subscription to the app. I downloaded the app to my iPhone, tried to sign-in many times, changed the password, and everything else i could do to no avail. I was never able to sign in. They tell you to contact Apple to cancel the subscription at any time, however Apple support was not able to do anything because I made the payment directly to Skillsta. I emailed Skillsta using the address provided on their website and someone responded to me giving me instructions to do the exact same things I had already been doing to get access to the app. This person then said if I continue to have problems signing in, to please video record what I was doing. I write them back to ask how I'm supposed to video record when I am actually using my phone to access the app? No response still to this day. The next day I went to Skillsta's website and the support email address had completely changed to a new email. So another obvious red flag. I then searched their Instagram account and saw plenty of comments on their posts calling them scammers. They didn't even bother to respond. It is 100% a scam. I am having to change my credit card number and security code altogether because of this. The initial charge was $9.99, but they then say that I will be charged automatically every month thereafter. Seeing as how it's a total scam, I'm guess they will try to do more than that. I asked Apple to remove the fraudulent app from their app store and I am planning to escalate to Instagram as well. Best to ignore all ads from Instagram! I was hopeful in thinking that this app would be useful similarly to Duolingo and that I could use it to improve my public speaking skills. Oh the other thing is that this company's address is in Cyprus and the company name on the emails, app, and credit card statement are all different.
