This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
In trying to find a way to call Xfinity to help with our internet connectivity, we went to their real site first but could not find a number to call or customer service. We went to the next website link that said Xfinity on the Google search results and the website showed Xfinity info including a number. We called and they posed as Xfinity employees including giving us their employee ID and name/number to call them back. They took our personal info trying to verify our account info.
