Description
Recently, a family member applied for a job online by completing a Google form with personal information, including their name and address. The following day, they were offered the position, and a contract was emailed outlining the start date, job duties, and pay details. As part of the onboarding process, the individual received an e-check for $5,350.65 and was instructed to deposit it into their bank account to purchase audio editing equipment for the job. Thankfully, the bank flagged the check, and it was not accepted. This serves as an important reminder to stay vigilant against scams like this. It’s unfortunate that hardworking people are targeted by individuals looking to exploit others for personal gain. Please be cautious when applying for jobs online, especially if financial transactions are requested early in the process. Stay safe and alert.
