Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

A message on my phone from the post office claimed they had an undeliverable package for me but could not deliver it because zip code incorrect. Asked for correct address and zip code and then asked for credit card info because they had to charge to forward package to correct zip. The charge was only $0.03 BUT it alerted me that this was a scam. Post office verified this as a scam they knew about. BBB also said this was a scam they knew about. My comment to both was that they both should advertise to the public that this was a scam. The public should have this information. I fell for it because I was looking for a lost package, but request for credit card info alerted me that this could be a scam, which it was.
