I ordered this rod on July 13th 2024. After I ordered it the PO said to allow 3-5 weeks for delivery. When the five weeks were up with still no fishing pole, I contacted them asking why it hadn’t been deliver yet. Then they notified me that the reason it was not complete was because they were behind on thousands of orders taken two months before that that hadn’t even been built yet! They said mine was very close to being built so I cut them some slack and decided to remain patient. I waited over 14 weeks total before canceling my order. They hadn’t even started building it yet. My refund was supposed to come in 10-21 days from cancellation so they claimed. That was on 10/23/24 and todays date is 12/06/24 and I have still not been refunded nor have I been contacted with an explanation. This company is taking thousands of people’s money in orders and then using that money to buy the materials to build the orders so they don’t have any overhead risk. It’s called a Ponzi scheme and is illegal. I’ve found that they also delete and block anyone trying to highlight this problem on social media. It’s all shady as hell and at this point I am making it my personal mission to let as many people know as possible so it doesn’t happen to them. I love the original G. Loomis brand but the person running Edge Rods is taking advantage of people and should be held responsible. Don’t buy anything from these people or their parent company North Fork Composites. That company is apparently ran the same way and behind on all kinds of orders from fishing poles to kayak paddles according to the reviews I’ve read. If you want a great fishing pole that shows up on time then buy an original G. Loomis or you can just line the pockets of Edge Rods because you aren’t getting your fishing pole or even a refund. It saddens me to say any of this. I’ve always respected Gary Loomis as a legend of fishing. I still do but the business that is happening at Edge Rods is tarnishing his name. They can delete all the negative posts they want but eventually the real fisherman are going to find out. I guarantee it.
