They contacted me first on TikTok and said they wanted to collab and wanted me to be an ambassador for their jewelry company, Adeline Gems. I thought it looked like a scam so I didn’t respond then they emailed me with the same offer. They told me to pick out one “free” piece of jewelry off of their website and all I had to do was make a video about it promoting their company on my TikTok page. They claim to be located in Paris, France and founded in 2018. When I went to the website, I immediately thought it looked like a scam… the jewelry all looks like the cheap jewelry you can buy on Temu for under $1. When I added a $57 item to my cart and put in the promo code they gave me, “ad100” it said it was $0 but like $14 for shipping! Why would a company that wants to collab expect someone to pay them for a “free” sample?! After looking into it further, I found out that this is a common scam on social media that targets newer affiliates and content creators who are so excited to get a collab offer that they fall for it, and these scammers make tons of money off of collecting these “shipping” charges! They then get the person they scammed to make videos promoting their fake company and then other girls see it and fall for it too! These people need to be stopped!
