Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

Contacted me originally using the provided email. They are targeting students of the government program Job Corps of which I am one. They send an email about a promising job offer and ask you to apply through a Google Survey link. I did so and provided information such as my email and phone number, They also ask for your age, sex, what bank you have, if you have a debit card, and if you have a credit card. They texted me through an email ([email protected]). No phone number was used. After some conversation that showed the scammer to not understand English very well, they sent an obviously photoshopped check to my email. The check was made out to my name, I couldn't read whose signature is on the check. The check was issued by Florida Credit Union and had the organization The Life You Can Save LLC on the check. The address of which the check states to be 7412 David DR, Frisco Texas 75034. When searched on Google, it's just a house in Texas. The routing number on the check is ********, the account number is *********, and the check number is ************. The scammer caught on to me knowing it was a scam before I could get any more info out of them.
