Jessica contacted me through message saying “ Good morning! My name is Jessica from Interpreta, Inc. I am contacting you regarding your job application for the role of a remote data entry clerk. I am pleased to inform you that we would like to invite you to interview for this position. The rate of pay for this role will be $27 per hour. If you are interested in this opportunity, please send your resume to hr@interpretainc .com . I look forward to the possibility of working with you and hearing from you soon.” I sent me resume to this email. Then was sent this “ Hello, Thank you for getting back to me. As part of the hiring process, you will be required to take a web based assessment test. The assessment will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and will provide us with valuable information about your skills and abilities. Your performance on this test will help us determine if you are the right fit for the position. Please follow the test link below to complete the assessment test and interview questions. You're also required to fill out the employee form by following the employee form link below PS: some test questions are time based. You're required to complete this as soon as possible. After completing all the necessary task I received a job offer in an email saying “ A decision about your employment was made sooner than expected as we need to fill this position as soon as possible. Please find attached the terms and conditions of your employment. Should you accept this offer, kindly sign and return the signed copy to me via email. We look forward to having you on board and are excited to have you join our team. Best Regards, Jessica Dillon | HR Assistant Interpreta, Inc.“ then an offer letter saying “ We are delighted to extend this offer of employment to you for the position of a Data Entry Clerk with Interpreta. You will be required to complete the following tasks to proceed with what comes next in your hiring process. 1. You will be required to complete an identity verification process. Ms Dillon will walk you through this process 2. Before you can commence your training, you will need to obtain a personal license for the software used in transmitting data, specifically for remote work purposes. The software requires every user to upgrade their account using their personal wallet, which must match the name on their account. This is in compliance with the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws. Therefore, the company will issue an expense check to you specifically for the purpose of getting started. You are expected to use the funds from the check only for the purpose of acquiring the license. Our HR assistant (Ms Dillon) will provide you with further instructions and references to assist you in getting started. Please Note: The Employment agreement can be found below this letter. Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for this position. • Vacation The Employee shall be entitled to a maximum of 15days PTO per year.” I of course knew then it was a scam and have reached out to them asking them to prove there authenticity before continuing with the process.
