This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
The scammer has convinced my sister that he is Austin Butler, the actor, and he is love with her. The scam continues with him asking her to marry him and she has agreed. Per the scammer, “Austin’s” manager has booked a resort in Georgia for the wedding reception for $57,000 but my sister needs to pay at least half of that because “Austin’s” money is tied up in a film that he is producing. My sister has sent him approximately $3000+ via Apple Pay cards. “Austin” cannot call or FaceTime because he is not allowed to do so per his contract. AI videos of Austin Butler speaking have been sent to my sister and my niece. The AI video I have seen has Austin Butler saying my niece’s name.
