Description
I purchased an auto part from someone on a facebook group I'm on. Sent payment through ApplePay. Package will be coming from Texas to South Carolina. He sent tracking number back and carrier was FedEx although he used a shipping company called Atlantic Gateway Logistics. The only thing I could find out about this company is they were based in London. I get an email confirmation from them. Next day get an email from them stating they needed a $100 refundable insurance fee and as long as package arrived without damage the fee would be refunded. I contacted the seller and he confirmed he had used this company in the past with no issues. I was hesitant now thinking it's a scam but he said he read their policy on the website. So again I paid through ApplePay to the number provided by the company. Got confirmation email stating package was back enroute. Next day another email now stating package on hold in Alabama and needed a $125 customs fee. Again contacted seller and he replied that Alabama customs was requiring the fee not the company. I told him I was reporting this as a scam and the transactions as fraud to my bank. It was literally 2 pieces of plastic, steering column covers.
