A young man with an Irish accent asked to give me an estimate for driveway and masonry work when he drove by my driveway in his truck. He said some neighbors were going to use his services soon. He reported an exceptional price, and urged me for an answer soon. I said I'm not in a financial position now, and would speak with other family members. He asked me when I would know and to call the number on his glossy card. I said I would know in a few days. However I suspect this is a scam after some internet searching. The business is located at a trailer without a business sign, anchored by a U Haul office per a Googlemaps image of 2 months ago. There is no indication of business reviews on extensive Home Advisor or Yelp lists, or on a list of local BBB paving contractors. I couldn't find their business in Google Reviews, though their website for their business of "many years" has 3 first name testimonials. I understand Irish Travellers have similar paving offer strategies in various areas of the country..
