Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

I went to park in a parking garage in Gainesville FL and scanned a QR code that took me to a “Parking Passport” website. I input my credit information and an initial charge of $1.25 was flagged by my credit company as a suspicious charge. I immediately cancelled my card and since then, the scammers have tried to charge $34.95 to my old card twice. Today, I received an Amazon package that I didn’t order which has been confirmed as a brushing scam, which I imagine is related to my credit card and personal information leak.
