On July 15, 2024, we ordered from Litfad and paid for two wireless/rechargeable wall lamps for a total of $199.10. On August 15, 2024, we received two wired wall lamps and immediately contacted Litfad to inform them of their error. Litfad acknowledged that their website was not accurate and asked whether we would accept the fraudulently marketed lamps and a 5% discount. As we ordered the lamps specifically for their wireless feature, we declined their offer of a discount, requested a refund and offered to mail the fraudulently marketed lamps back to them. Over the next 10 days, we exchanged 12 messages with Litfad during which they refused to refund the purchase price but increased their discount offer to 40%. We indicated that we would report their fraudulent behavior to relevant authorities and they continued to decline to issue a refund. We reported the fraud to our credit card company and are now notifying the relevant authorities. Product and company review websites are filled with similar complaints from other customers of Litfad. I suspect that the are engaged in a broad-based consumer fraud involving the advertisement of goods for sale that they know they don't have, replacement of the advertised goods with inferior/cheaper goods and offering immaterial discounts to mollify customers who complain. We're happy to provide copies of receipts and communications, including the communication in which they admitted their website falsely advertised the goods in questions.
