Description

I was notified through a text message that this company, Prescient Therapeutics, said they saw my resume and offered me a remote only work from home job that I have been trying to apply for. When they sent the text message it was originally from another person not the person who was supposedly the “Hiring Manager” and asked me if I had Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams. They gave me info on how to contact this person, Casey Walters ( [email protected] ) through Zoom so they can interview me. It seemed like it was okay at first because this was my first time applying for a remote job and needed something I can work from because of my health and going to school. I had major surgery last year and have been unemployed since my operation, so I was looking for something to help support my family more. They gave me interview questions like a regular job and even had me sign a job offer letter. They told me I would be making $30/hr as a data entry clerk and offered training. The job offers looked legit at first but then they wanted me to print off a check and mobile deposit into my account so I can but my own work equipment through their vendors that they use which was kind of strange because I figured why wouldn’t they just supply them themselves and send to me. I looked up their website and even the website fooled me because it looked so real. It said that they were helping with medical supplies and treatments to help people with cancer. This is what makes me mad is because they are using this to lie to people and that’s wrong to use something like helping people with cancer to scam people into getting money. Even though I should have stopped there I did end up depositing the check which I regret doing because they made my account negative $118. They asked me to send them money through CashApp, Zelle, PayPal, and finally Bitcoin. The first ones weren’t working so they tried to get me to go through Walmart before did the Bitcoin and that is only way they got us. They kept harassing me with messages and emails when I told them this is a scam because something isn’t right and then tried to act like I was trying to steal money from them, so I blocked all contact and told the bank what happened when they called. I definitely won’t fall for that again and hope no one else does. This is happening way too much for people to get taken advantage of and it keeps happening. Very sad there are people out there that can do this to innocent people trying to make a living.
