Description

The initial email said that my application to Safal Partners had been reviewed and I was on the short list. If I was still interested in the position to respond yes. I responded yes and was told that the next step was a 15 question screening test and portfolio. They presented themselves as a company that is real, has a job listed for that position, there were no complaints/warnings on the BBB website, good reviews on Glassdoor, posts on LinkedIn, etc. The questions were fantastic interview questions that applied to the field, included the job description, and contained the company logo. I submitted the questions by the deadline that was given and received an amazingly detailed offer the next day and said that to move forward they would need my full name, email address, address, and phone number. After providing that information I received a "formal offer letter." Again, everything was incredibly detailed! The offer letter detailed responsibilities, benefits, detailed necessary supplies for a home workspace, a start date, the training process, and more! All of the information all aligned with the information I had found in my research from the reputable sources noted above. I signed and sent back the offer letter. Under my husband's skepticism, this morning I started digging and found a post on LinkedIn from yesterday saying that others had been contact by a scam matching what I was experiencing. I found a post on Reddit, also from yesterday, which stated they had been contacted by a similar situation. I contacted Safal Partners through LinkedIn asking if there was a scam or if the offer was legitimate. Through LinkedIn, Safal Partners confirmed that it was a scam and how I should go about applying to the position if I was truly interested in working for them. At this point I used the GMail option to report the email as a scam, so I am not sure what could have happened if I had continued communicating with them.
