We've been getting suspicious-looking emails from supposed trademarking services for some time now. They always say that another entity is attempting to trademark our company name. A search of the appropriate database comes up short, and the information listed in the email/website always lists a Los Angeles address that isn't actually where the business exists. Once the address was on a real street but a fake number - since then I've seen them get a bit smarter and choose a generic office park in L.A. where many businesses are based. Another way I've sussed out that they're scammers is that, when you search the name of those who left "testimonials" for these companies, all the other fake ones show up in the search results; basically, it's one entity running the same scam under several different names. All photos of their "offices" can be reverse-searched to find the original sources. Some of these sites are registered under org domains. Domains I found linked to this scam include: trademarkprosolutions, starttrademark, marksolutionhub, globaltrademarkeez, orbittrademark, trademarkproharbours, and trademarknavigators. Normally I just mark things as phishing and move on, but these really convinced my boss to the point where she checked with her lawyer. I work at a small business and would hate for anyone like us to get scammed by these guys. Hopefully something can be done about this.
