This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I was contacted via text message by Talent Acquisition Specialist Veronica Wang (719-300-6979) about a Verification Entry Specialist position and then asked to contact Mr. Vasili Sahu via MS Teams. It was a normal online interview procedure including the screening questions. By the time it was over, I was offered the position with a nice hourly rate and received an email from [email protected] with onboarding/hiring documents. I had given them the name of my bank but no account numbers and found negative commentary before returning any documents. I was told I'd receive a laptop or desktop PC to perform my duties. I do research about companies and the BBB scam info popped up. I can't find anyone named Vasili Sahu (Interview Manager) and asked him why the company websites were different. One notes under construction (the one that sent the onboarding documents) although they both come up as I have worked for a major technology industry and this stood out. Needless to say I heard nothing else from Mr. Sahu. I tried to call him via telephone and video on MS Teams and the call would not go through either way. I also tried to call the number that initially texted me and it repeatedly went straight to voicemail. Please be aware of this name and this scam. I do find it strange, however, that the actual company website does not offer any phone numbers. The only way to contact them is to provide your information and let them contact you, although that could be irrelevant. Either way, please be aware and advised. To the person in TX who posted this initially, THANK YOU!
