Rental scam. House was listen on Apartment.com filled out the application the renter got back to me stated they moved to Florida for a job had a rental agent but didn’t use them because the prices were too expensive which cause the rent to be high. They then sent me a rental questionnaire after I filled it out said he had a few more questions I completed that then he said he needs to discuss with his wife. Two days after he got back to me stating we’re the perfect people they want to take care of their home while there away and he sent the rental agreement which was a word document then stated the amount of 3800 I need to pay which included the deposit and 1st month rent and he will send the keys and documents overnight via fedex. I told him I would only send the deposit to secure the keys and then when I see the home in person then I will make 1st months rent. He agreed. Sent his wifes bank account information and I sent the money. He said he will send the tracking after work since he’s very busy it’s almost mid night and I still haven’t recieved anything. I’ve reached out to my bank to stop the transaction but they said it’s too late and they will need to request a reversal from the payees bank. I’m completely stupid right. Well this is my story.
