Description

Locked out of house. Called a few numbers that came up in my google search of nearby locksmiths. Call was returned from one, not sure which because they all apparently use an aggregator/dispatch service. They knew my address before I told them, and said would arrive in 20 minutes. Had been quoted $55 to $75 to unlock front door knob. (deadbolt was not engaged). They tinkered with door knob a few minutes, then put air jacks in door, then whipped out some more tools and boom -- it was open. The whole process took less than five minutes. They told me it would be $460, and I would need a new lock because they destroyed the existing one. I said no, I was quoted $55 to $75. They said they could just leave it as is (unlock-able, and basically destroyed) for $300-something. I said absolutely not. They finally came down to $185, I said ok because I just wanted them to leave at this point. No receipt or business card. It showed up as $264.50 when I checked the credit card statement, which says company name is Lockbuster Pro LLC. (There is no company by that name that I can find in Kentucky, though I see it in other states with many complaints.) The two men were in an unmarked (no sign or logo) burgundy SUV with New York tags and said they had just been here in U.S. and Kentucky for 10 days. Said they were from Israel, and spoke to each other in another language (Hebrew?) the whole time they were here. Told me their names were Leo and Nev. One tall, maybe 6 foot, and the other about 5"8. Both thin, dark hair and dark eyes, olive skin. Shorter one had gold chain with engraved charm, like a prayer scroll. I suspect they are not licensed to operate in Kentucky. Am cautious about reporting them to the credit card company because they basically break into cars and houses for a living, and I don't want any trouble.
