Description
I recently applied for and apartment in Sacramento, CA through Apartment list which i got accepted to within three or four days which was super odd but i had an open mind purchasing this new apartment since it was my first time doing so. I got an email supposedly from Aubrey Walker which the email was [email protected] from supposedly Dreamhood FamilyHome and in the email it reads among other words I'm not going to be able to show you the property in person because I'm in Panama City, FL. You can, however, drive by at any time to see the outside of the apartment, the location, and the neighborhood. The interior of the house cannot currently be viewed because the keys are with us, but we are happy to mail them to a tenant who we feel we can trust with our property once the application has been reviewed" I do currently work in Sacramento and passed by the location where the property was being rented the property was gated and supposedly Aubrey walker did not mention sending a remote as he was supposedly was going to send a key once ive sent him a security deposit of 1100$. He also did attached a acceptance letter and a rental agreement letter that was sign by him which made it seem legit but after having my management review it we found it to be a scam. He did also send me some forms to fill out which had all my information including social security # and ID as well as my full name. I also did speak with him and he seemed rushed to receive that 1100$ hee was texting me from a Verizon LTE device (850)242_0023 and we did find another number on his profile here on BBB (488)205-9028. HE WAS A SCAM WE DID CONRIEM AS IT HAS NOT BEEN THE FIRST TIME HE HAS BEEN DOING THIS. hE STATES HE MOVED TO Florida. i will be pasting his email. 1st email:Hi there, this is Aubrey Walker. How are you today? You indicated interest in renting our apartment at 973 Fulton Ave #484, Sacramento, CA 95825 in an email that I received. It is still up for rent, but I will only rent it to a responsible and suitable tenant because of our present absence. My family and I moved to Florida lately due to a new work opportunity. We are searching for renters who will take good care of our apartment and treat it like their own. I'd be open to speaking with a sincere prospective tenant who can convince and reassure me about the property's maintenance. Both the security deposit and the rent are $1,000. A $100 pet deposit is needed for each pet on the property. I'm not going to be able to show you the property in person because I'm in Panama City, FL. You can, however, drive by at any time to see the outside of the apartment, the location, and the neighborhood. The interior of the house cannot currently be viewed because the keys are with us, but we are happy to mail them to a tenant who we feel we can trust with our property once the application has been reviewed. To give you an idea of what it looks like, I've included recent pictures of the interior along with a rental application form. We tried using property management companies, but the costs and hassles were too much for us. In the end, my partner and I decided to rent it out ourselves from this location, and hopefully we made the right decision. Details of the Property Address: 973 Fulton Ave #484, Sacramento, CA 95825 Bedroom: 1 Bathroom: 1 Sqft : 624 There were services like trash, sewage, and water. If you would like to move further or have any queries, I'll be waiting to hear from you. Thanks, Aubrey Walker Text/Call: (850) 242-0023 from a Verizon LTE device 2nd email: At this juncture, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and extend our sincere pleasure in having you as our new tenant. In addition to being pleased with your application, I am confident that I can entrust you with the responsibility of maintaining the property. We can also allow you to stay for as long as you want. We will arrange a convenient time, perhaps when we are less preoccupied, to pay you a visit once you have moved in to assess the maintenance situation. Nevertheless, I would like to inform you that I require the Refundable Security Deposit of $1,000 in order to secure this property until you are prepared to vacate. The keys and required documentation will be dispatched to your present address via USPS OR FedEx courier services with next-day delivery to (**** Huntington Dr N, Los Angeles, CA 90032) as soon as the payment is received. Thus, you can immediately gain access to the property interior; in the interim, the Parcel will be delivered to ***** ********. Here are the contents of the FedEx/USPS package that will be delivered to you. 1) Keys to the entrance and the room. 2) Receipt of Payment. 3) Completed Lease Agreement Form (sign on both copies and return one to me) 4) Form for Rental Inspection Checklist. Could you kindly ensure that my property is maintained in a respectful manner? Kindly note that a complete refund of the deposit is required. You will adore every aspect of this exquisite home. The only accepted methods of payment are domestic wire transfer, Venmo, and Zelle. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
