I had applied for a loan from River Valley Loans online. I entered all my info on the application which from applying with other companies I saw was normal. I put my bank account info which seemed normal for the process. I was clicking through all these pages trying to get to the part that showed interest rates and how much I was even borrowing. So without even realizing it the application was submitted. They never showed any info of what amount I borrowed what the interest rate was or how long it would take to pay back. No payment amount or anything. It said I would receive an email so I waited for the email. The email specified that it was a $900 loan which I’d be paying $241 every two weeks. The total pay back was over $4000! It said in the email click here to consent or accept and e-sign to receive your money. Well I absolutely did not want to accept those terms. That’s insane! So I just went on with accepting that my account was gonna remain with a negative balance and I wasn’t paying my power bill. I didn’t realize that they deposited the $900 into my account. My bank account was negative so I didn’t check it until I got paid. Then they started taking the $241 payments. I’ve tried contacting the number on the website and “Sherry from United health care” is the recording that played. I can’t find an option with my bank to dispute because it’s not a debit card transaction. So I don’t really know what to do. But I never agreed to the loan to begin with. $4000 is a lot of money. I feel like this is a very predatory scam and possibly illegal.
