Scammer contacted us to produce a printed product. First via our website and then via phone and email. We produced the product. The scammer then insisted we pay the freight of $6950 in advance to the freight company Swift Transportations 323-433-2866 and contact at Swift was Tim McCarthy but sounded like he was from India. We needed payment in advance from Gilles Metal Tech before we paid the freight. They paid $11777 via a credit card transaction on March 14th. We paid the Freight on March 21st which was pulled from our bank on March 22nd. At the same time Gillies Metal Tech disputed the CC transaction on March 19th and it was charged back to our bank on the same day as the freight payments was pulled. March 22nd. On March 25th when we saw all this activity we pulled our $6950 freight ACH payment back and was able to retrieve it from SWIFT TRANSPORTATIONS. Note that a legitimate freight company called Swift Transportation (without the S) exists. BEFORE we pulled back the $6950, Anthony Schroeder from Gillies Metal Tech 28 Tyne Street South Hill Omaru 9400 New Zealand contacted us to place ANOTHER order. At that point he thought his scam had worked as he had his $6950 ACH from us and had pulled back his $11777 credit card payment. When we emailed about the $11777 chargeback, Anthony said he neglected to get the proper approval on that large CC transaction and we would have the money in a week or so from his credit card Visa/Mastercard. When we pulled back the $6950 freight payment we never heard from Anthony Schroeder 864-708-5167 [email protected] again. Nor did we hear from Tim McCarthy at Swift TransportationS again. 323-433-2866. We did however produce the product and that cost us $1900.
