Description

I was contacted via email in regards to a job I had supposedly applied for, althoughI could not find t he job among my ******** or ****** job applications. Here is the text of the email: "The hiring team from the company PRELUDE SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS INC. have received, reviewed and approved your resume and you have been shortlisted for an online interview. We believe you have the required qualification to handle the position. The position is for: PROOFREADER The start-up pay is $35.00 per hour while training pay is $25.00 per hour. This is strictly an online work from home job also known as a remote position. All needed and necessary details will be briefed to you during the interview section. Following our newest online screening introduced by BBB, you are required to set-up and install Microsoft Teams app if you don't have, use the website https://teams.microsoft.com/ and add the hiring manager on this Email via Microsoft Teams app ([email protected]). He will be available online via Microsoft Teams app for the job briefing/interview section and comprehensive details. This is our first step to proceed further. He will be expecting to hear from you soon.. Your reference code is (*******) this would serve as your identification number throughout the online hiring process. This is your first step, to proceed further we expect to hear back from you as soon as possible. NOTE: We offer one week paid training tasks of $25.00 per hour before full work as we are interested in your personal development. We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible." I had an online chat with John Taylor via Teams. In it he gave information about the company and asked a series of "interview" questions. He said he would be back in touch the following day, once the questions had been reviewed. In the meantime, I looked up the company and found several scam reports on this website with regard to the company. They used the same names as were in the email I received. The other complaints indicated that the complainants had been asked to pay for equipment and/or software that the company anticipated they would need to learn how to do their jobs. When I questioned both individuals involved with the company about the complaints, and asked for a company email address, they cut off correspondence. Up until those questions, their response time had been within minutes; after those questions, total silence.
