I want to report a fraud. The group of three persons pretend to be constructors. They say that they licensed, insured, registered in NJ, but they just scam people. Each of them has the website with the fake address. On 03 Mar 2024 I saw in my neighborhood a person who offered me clean the gutter. He said that they are fully insured, licensed. After he started the work, he said that I need to replace the fascia. I agreed to do it. The contract, the sign he let on my property and the card say that this company is fully licensed, insured. He left the contract for $800. On 07 Mar he came over with another contractor and with 2 workers. When they were fixing, he said that I have an issue with my roof, the plywood was damaged, and it needs to be fixed for $4700. I agreed. After that he said that I have a hole on the roof, and it will cost $1100. I agreed to pay, because the weather was rainy, and I was afraid of the leaks. At the end of day, he said that I have the damaged plywood on another side of the roof and showed me the hole in the attic. He made this hole, when he was replacing the shingles for me for free, but I did not ask to do t. He said that the plywood was rotten. He said they will replace the whole back side for $5400 the next day. I agreed, it was a good price for the back of the roof. I said that the quality of the job was very bad. On 08 Mar they came over with 2 other workers and told me that they will fix the roof and the issues from yesterday. They never gave me the contract for the money I paid $5800 a day before, they said that they will give me the next day. When they came over, they said that $5400 was not for the whole back side of the roof, it's a part of the roof. I agreed to pay because I had no choice and tomorrow, we expected the rain. After that they said that I have another hole and it will cost $2000. I thought that it's scam, but he said that the wood is really rotten, when he touched it, the hole appeared. All together it was $7400. I noticed that they used gray shingles instead of brown after they fixed the roof. I said that the prices were too high, the quality was bad, they took advantage of me because I was vulnerable, maybe they made the holes, he was rude and said that he is busy, and he is losing time. I said that I will not pay $7400 for the bad job they performed, he was angry, he threatened me and said that he will file a construction lien. I got scared and paid $7400. I told him that the contract I have has invalid link, but the real web site is https://alljerseychimneysandmasonry.com/. When I left the room, he took my old contract for $800 and a business card. After that he left the house, I ran after him, asking for the contract, he said that they will give me next day, when they stop by to fix all issues. Next day they did not come, I tried to call them, I called the number - 908-727-0029; he told me three times that they would stop by, but they never did. The contractor was rude, I left the messages, texted them, (I tried to reach them using all phone numbers I knew, they previously called me from these phone numbers), but they never replied, now they do not pick up the phone at all. I realized now that they lied to me about the license, about their names. Two other contractors have MA phone numbers, their truck has MA license plate, I took photos of this car. Now I have the roof that needs full replacement, 3 other roofers checked my roof, and they said that the company used wrong shingles and the quality is terrible, and I can have leaks. The total loss I have is $13200 and also the cost of the roof replacement $8000. I have the phone numbers of other people in this group. I can provide it if needed. I have a handwriting note of a contractor, where he wrote that he received a payment from me, but he did not print his name, just a signature. Also, I found out later that all of them have web sites, another person of this team has another website with the fake address - Masscraft Roofing & Masonry, the website: https://masscraftroofingandmasonry.com/. Previously this site had MA phone number, and that contractor called me from this number. They use hotels as the address for their web sites. The third web site for the third team member - https://starlineroofingandmasonry.com/ also in MA. They all have European accent.
