A text message from 614-665-0937 was sent to my daughter's cell phone stating "this is Brian Baker in the legal department You receiving this message because you're being listed as an emergency contact for (my name) Have any information they can lead to their whereabouts Please pass this message to them as soon as possible or have an immediate member of the family reach out to my office now the purpose of this message is not intended to scare anyone But I can't say that the matter is urgent and very private if you have any contact with (my name) Press one and ask to speak directly to me, Brian Baker, or someone in my office..." I called the number and spoke to a Linda Gomez. When I asked for the business name she garbled out a name and when I asked her to repeat it she went into explaining I owed a debt for EZ Corp, EZ Money for a loan I took out in 2012 and then went on to say I made 2 payments and then it went into collections and in 2013 and 2018 someone tried to collect and I will be served paperwork to my home address for a court date unless I want to settle. I expressed I did not owe anything nor recognize the name she mentioned and this is 12 years old. She stated my address (which was correct) and said I could expect paper work to appear in court. I told her I do not believe this is a legit company and I do not owe anything and if you need to send something to my address then do it and I hung up.
