Description

The UConn Cybersecurity Bootcamp was promoted on social media sites as an opportunity to learn valuable skillsets to get your foot in the door of a 6 figure career in cybersecurity. EdX and 2U used a fake UConn email to appear as University of Connecticut employees and were able to fraudulently persuade students who wanted to make an HONEST LIVING by learning new skillsets, and sign tuition loans through CLIMB Credit LLC to pay a $12,955 student loan to attend a 6 month bootcamp that has the same curriculum posted on GitHub.com for FREE. Not only is the curriculum posted online for free but they PROMISED a 6 figure career to students, which is 100% fraud. Cybersecurity employers are denying candidates that attended EdX and 2U courses. Students are left paying $425 per month while inflation is at an all time high in food, gas, housing, etc. In addition to being “black labeled” by Cybersecurity employers so it is a lose-lose situation. Please read this article as reference for additional details: https://www.reddit.com/r/codingbootcamp/comments/z0my41/the_dirty_truth_about_edxtrilogy_boot_camps/ I know students who are bankrupt, experienced their credit scores drop tremendously, and are blackballed from employment due to the practices by EdX and 2U. $12,995 for information that was free online without students’ knowledge while promised a 6-figure career, only to be blackballed out of the industry. That is indeed a scam and students shall receive the justice they need to support their families.
