I was searching for Coinbase contact information and inadvertently typed "coinbase contact ninfo" when a florida number came up with a geo location of Snohomish, WA (in my region) with a link to coinbase.com. I had tried the coinbase toll free number earlier but the wait times were extremely long so I tried to find another number. The number of 321-233-9097 came up and I called it. A "Steven" answered who said he was coinbase customer service. I should have gone with my gut instinct and hung up but didn't. He used quick assist to take over my computer to help me set up my coinbase account, which was dormant (the original reason I was calling coinbase) but he also took my digital wallet's recovery key and moved about $8300 worth of bitcoin to an address that was not mine. He of course was very convincing that he was my coinbase account manager. He also answers 844-509-3540. This all happened Feb. 28. I have asked him for my bitcoin back several times. I heard from the digital wallet company and there's nothing they can do. I have alerted coinbase and filed a police report. It was the inadvertent spelling mistake in a search that led to all this. Thank you.
