I'm a floral designer and someone named David Hagen contacted me via email on Feb 21, 2024. He wanted to buy bouquets for an upcoming wedding. We had multiple emails back and forth regarding the types of flowers, colors of flowers and pricing. He then ordered 7 bouquets to be delivered to 305 Ridgeway Cir, White Plains, NY 10605 on April 12th at 6pm. He wanted to pay by check so I gave him my delivery address. The total amount including tax was $1,679.89. He then said that he needed a favor from me because he was having trouble disbursing funds to the event planner. He said he was going to send me a check for $7,130 and that once I deposited the check to keep $1,680 for myself plus an extra $100 as a tip to myself. He said to then send $5,350 to the event planner. He did not mention the name of the event planner. I responded saying that I no longer felt comfortable working with him and that I would not provide the flowers for him. I told him not send me a check and to never contact me again.
