1/4/2224 we received a call that was ID'ed on my phone as IHG including my account #. The person said they are the rental company associated with IHG & RCI & are authorized to rent our bonus weeks for $1600/week. My husband is 79 yrs old, a veteran & asked me to take the call. We would receive $9600 in 60-90 days if we signed a contract fo them to represent us. The catch was we pay upfront the transfer fee $2394; which in the contract said it is an advertising fee. When quiried about what happens if the weeks don't rent the person said in the highly unlikely event (she'd never had it happen unless rate negortiations stall because we ask for more money rather than accepting an offer) but OSA would continue to search for a renter for another 180 days at OSA's expense. I signed the contract via docu-sign & gave them my credit card but when I tried to verify OSA's affiliation with IHG or RCI I learned (1) they are not associated with either entity (2) there are multiple companies making the same sales pitch & most are scams (3) we don't actually own bonus weeks as we have a points contract so RCI considers it illegal for us to sign a contract with another company for the bonus weeks option.
