I Googled an item I wanted to find. Dick's Sporting Goods came up in the results, so I clicked on the website: dicks-sportinggood.com, which I now know is the scam site. The legit webiste is dickssportinggoods.com. After I ordered my item, paid with my credit card, I expected a confirmation email. Instead, I recieved an email saying I still had items in my cart. I was confused, so I clicked on 'see my cart' in that email and I was taken to my transaction that stated was actually complete. This inconsistency made me wonder what was going on, so I started investigating and found the REAL Dick's website and engaged with a chat customer service person. She confirmed there was no order and that the website I purchased from was NOT Dick's. I immediately contacted my bank/credit card company and placed a dispute for the pending charge and had a new card number issued and the old card number cancelled. I have to wait a certain amount of time for the FRAUD company to respond to the dispute before the bank will close the dispute. I hope that this will get resolved in my favor, so at this time, I do not know if I've lost money or not.
