Avast used my previous ( approx 3 y/o ) customer info to reinstall their browser on my computer. When I called and requested them to remove their browser, they told me I had to purchase an "Expert Care" subscription for a dollar in order for them to do so. It amounts to them holding my computer Hostage for a dollar! My computer holds personal info that I am careful to protect. It is clearly a way for them to generate income, and get prior customers to re-purchase their service! It is a Pretty Shady Way to do Business! Prior to calling them I tried to use my Uninstall button-nope they blocked that! I also used a tool called Avast Clear ( ironically an Avast product) to remove the browser. They also blocked that! It is Clearly a way to trap customers to pay them a dollar! I did not pay them, and have contacted the FTC, FCC, and our local law enforcement. I have since had a computer expert remove all Avast from my computer. Not everyone has that option. I'm speaking for them as well.
