I booked a flight on privatelowfares.com, and someone called me right afterwards saying that my flight was cancelled because the flight was no longer available. They tried to get me to pay around three times as much for a new flight and threatened to charge a cancellation fee if I did not book a new flight. I told them that it was their business cancelling, not me, and he gladly informed me that the company booked my return flight and it was just the departing flight that was going to cost me three times as much. So, it seems like they "booked" my return flight so they could hold the cancellation fee over my head while attempting to get me to pay hundreds of dollars more for the departing flight. Maybe this is technically legal, but it's definitely a corrupt/bad faith business practice. The number they called me on was 646-693-5355.
