Description
I received a call about 12:20 today, Oct. 27, 2023. It was a woman saying I had won a prize from Publisher's Clearing House and the Prize Patrol was in a town close to me. She gave me a prize number and the phone number of a man named John Ford to call at 631-284-4717 and to call now. I called and this guy (who sounded like someone on a hangover) went thru all of the things I have won including 2.5 million US plus a Mercedes Benz automobile. They would come to the house today with my car and check. He also said that a representative from the IRS would be with the Prize Patrol and we would need to pay him $850 for putting a gold seal on the check. I told him we didn't have that much money. He then lowered it to $400, then $300 and then asked me how much I could pay! I told him I was broke and then he asked when I would be able to pay....so I told him never and hung up! I doubted him all along, but when he started lowering the $$$ amounts, I knew fore sure it was a scam.
