Description

The customer was searching for a product brand (Dudley Stephens clothing) and, through a google search, found a website that sells Dudley Stephens products called Turtleneck Topshop that markets itself as an online retailer of Dudley Stephens brand clothing. The customer placed an order via the website on 8/4/23 for one item--a pullover turtleneck sweater--for $85, paid by credit card, and was charged immediately. The customer did not receive an order confirmation, receipt of purchase, or any other communication whatsoever from the retailer. The customer attempted to contact the retailer via the instructions listed on their website (website message portal, admin email address). The website message inquiry was never answered, and the email bounced back marked as an invalid address. The customer also obtained the business phone number from her credit card company and attempted to call, but the automated voice indicated the "mailbox was full." Based on the above sequence of events, this seems to be an illegitimate business and should be investigated.
