Received a call from 864-759-0587 stating I needed to call 866-408-1401 in regarding to a pending judgement being filed against me. Called the 866 number. Spoke to Andrew in Arbitration. He stated this was in reference to a $6000.00 to Belk. He said this amount included legal fees and that the actual debt amount is $1841.90. He said this in reference to a Belk Credit card through Synchrony Bank/GE Capital. He said I had the option to pay the $1841.90 or judgement would be filed against me with Greenville county and my wages would be garnished. I told him I could not pay that amount. He said I could put 25% down and then make monthly payments. I said I couldn't pay anything today. He asked if I could make monthly payments of $200.00 and when I could start. He said he would email me a contract to sign, but before he did all that, he attempted to get my debit card information to set up payment plan. I asked who he works for - he stated Saltzman (or Salzman) & Carlyle. I Googled the phone number and found two scam reports. I have not had a credit card with Belk in over 10 years. I told him I would look up this information and call him back. I checked my credit report, and there is nothing from Belk or Synchrony Bank or GE Capital, nor is there anything for the amount of $1841.90 or $6000.00
