I followed up about an available apartment in Mansfield, Mass on Apartments.com and received an email back from their email "info" ([email protected]). I requested to tour the apartment and was told I had to fill out an application and be approved before I could tour. This included first last, SSN, and picture of my license. I sent that in then they follow up saying I had to pay an application fee of $70 to their PayPal using the friends and family option and provided this email to pay to "[email protected]". This seemed suspicious and I decided to look into their website more. I noticed the pictures for the address on their site do not match those of the listing on apartment.com, they do not have an address as they claim to work in a variety of states, and when I tried to call both of the numbers listed, neither of them worked. They have the real estate license #4940135 listed on their email but it yields no results on any real estate looks site. When I emailed them back to ask them to please withdrawn my application and delete my information as I did not want to proceed due to my suspicions about them, I immediately got a response saying my application was withdrawn and not much else.
