I responded to an outline job posted by "Career Builders" for a remote Data Entry Clerk position with Pick Health Insurance Co. I was invited by a McGreg Fionaa to complete a series of phone texts including an aptitue and skills test. After successfully completing them I was informed that my results were being forwarded to a HR/Hiring Manager for review. A few days later I was notified that I had been selected for the position. By this time, I had yet to speak with a human being. I was told that a check was being sent to me to purchase equipment that would be needed to set up my home office. A few days later a check arrived via UPS for $4,820.00. The odd thing, amoung several by this time, was that the check was drawn against a bank in Wilson, NC and was issued by a company called "******** **** ******" out of FL. I called the company and verified that they were in fact a legitimate company in Florida but had no affiliation with Pick Health Insurance in Vienna, VA. Furthermore, the return address on the mailing envelop that the check arrived in was from a Gordon AJ of TRC Electronics, Inc., address: 4171 Stony Ln., Doylestown, PA 18902-1160. Lastly, my husband, who is a former banker of 20 years, was able to able to contact the ****** Bank in Wilson, NC on the check and verify that the account was a valid account number: although the issuing company, "******** **** ******", personnel that he spoke to said their company had issued no such check or had funds to cover the amount of the check. The check had obviously been issued to defruad me, the bank, the small FL business owner and prehaps others. I will contact the local law enforment authorities and pass this information on to the FL business owner. My husband informed the bank that this check might be party to a scam.
