Description
I was contacted by email for the position of ESL Teacher (Remote) Position with Baruch High School by the principal, ****** **********. I checked the school website and saw that the name matched the principal, so I continued answering the emails. Then, they sent me a 14-question questionnaire about my previous teaching experience. Once I submitted it, they said they were impressed and a representative would contact me, so I sent my phone number. I said I would be available at 9am, but I didn't receive the call until nearly 6pm, which I thought was suspicious. The person who interviewed me (David) didn't speak English very well and he asked and said things that did not sound like an interview. He even mentioned having to buy a laptop for the job and having to submit a check. This person said they would contact me with a document I had to fill out for payroll. This is when I checked the school website and saw that the emails didn't match. This is the email and phone number they used: [email protected] 6462011468 I have attached the job description.
