I was surfing the web and suddenly saw the ad at the side of the webpage. It was about wight loss for seniors (50+) using exercises. I clicked this ad and it opened a questionnaire about what do I need. Then at the end of this I saw an offer for different time periods. I selected the shortest period and paid for the service. The system tried to aggressively upsell me 2 other products and I hardly found the way to escape it. Then I got an email with the link - it opens a web page which was asking to go to mobile and install the software. I don't have mobile with data plan and decided to cancel the deal. I found that the deal had hidden automatic subscription for $69US after the end of the period with automatic renewals. I found the way to cancel it and send an email to the company to get a refund for misleading me and not telling me that the product is strictly based on mobile only. The company replied to me 3-4 times with the emails made by the bot with irrelevant content. Finally on the 7th day they replied that they won't issue a refund to me. I did some research and found a lot of similar cases on the internet and the company has never issued a refund. I also found bad reviews in TrustPilot and BBB. The process where they get me to answer the questions is just designed to fool me into believing that it will make a difference in the program or better " list of exercises". It appears that I can get such list anywhere on the web for free. Furthermore, the initial price of $16, which has never been described as a trial price, is not final - they will upgrade it to the "worthy" subscription price of $69US dollars with auto renewal. I sent email to the company that they have no rights to keep my money as they did not deliver the product to me and did not notify me that it's solely based on mobile. Here is what they replied to me: "MadMuscles is a mobile app–based digital service. The workout programs, personalized plans, and core content are provided through the mobile application. This information is presented during the purchase flow and in our terms. While some general information may be accessible via a browser, the full service is delivered through the app. Not having a mobile device, mobile internet, or a data plan is a personal limitation and does not mean the service was not provided. The product itself is available and functional as described, on supported devices. For this reason, your request does not qualify for a refund. The case has been reviewed multiple times, including by our billing management team, and the decision remains final in line with our Refund Policy and applicable regulations." ... They were lied saying that information "is presented during the purchase flow and in our terms" ... I personally have not seen any notifications although they might used a tiny small font for terms which was not noticeable. Anyway, I have not received the product and therefore they have no rights to keep my money. I assume, that this business model can be considered as a scam and many people have been caught that way. Imagine, a million of people paid initial $16US and didn't receive a refund - the company got $16US mln for nothing. For me this is a fraud and should be penalised. ... The company phone is not available so I entered (111) 111-1111 in the description.
