This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I went to the IRS website to ask a question about filing back taxes. I was taken to a website called JustAsk. I was prompted to okay a $5 charge for the information. I okay the $5 charge that was also stated to be refundable. When I okay'ed the $5 charge, I was taken to another website immediately and charged a $70 charge that I did NOT authorize.
