When scrolling news headlines, I clicked a link about a gelatin weight loss recipe. This had a small article with a video to watch for the ingredients. Then it's a long infomercial. After attempting to make a purchase which my credit card fraud flagged. My account was immediately frozen and a new card number issed. When my new credit card statement came, the charge was on my new card. I called the fraud team at my credit card company to ask why? I was told the first transaction was stopped but a second transaction almost instantaneous, as it had the same time post as the first attempt that stopped the transaction. So my credit card company is looking into this. In addition to pushing through a second charge, the charge on my statement was a recurring charge. I have no idea of the frequency, since I was never signing up for a subscription. Extremely bold fraud, in my opinion. This additional scam made me look further and I learned this was a widespread scam. They use real people, real company names and products. Apparently it's such a successful scam that the actual 4UNature has a pop-up on their website with a link to the BBB. In my case, the scammer uses AI technology to create a "deep fake" of Dr. Ashton. The video starts talking about Dr. Ashton and how she is board certified and her gelatin recipe and then testimonials from actresses/musicians. Then it turns into exact amounts of ingredients that have to be pulverized and combined with other ingredients and made into a pill. How it was originally made in a Japanese lab but that they then found a lab located in the USA and use them now. It claims to be featured on The New York Times, CBS, ABC, Fox and CNN. It also claimed it was FDA approved. It also provided a 100% satisfaction or Your Money Back 60-Day Unconditional Guarantee with an email of [email protected]. It had thousands of positive reviews. I read the positive reviews which are either fake or for the REAL businesses and products being used in the scam. After the aborted purchase I started receiving text messages from 726-227-3242 referencing a Dr. Prescott and 833-851-5180 as well as messages from 213-286-7501. 213-286-7501 - Text Message received AFTER credit card scam filter detected potential fraud and I stopped the transaction.
