Contact made by Ring Planet representative sharing "information" that our landline was on obsolete copper wire system that was being discontinued by order of the Federal government, and they were "working with" Century Link to get things changed over for their customers to digital phones. He said they would be comparable in monthly cost and include long distance. "Time was running out ..." I should have thought to check BBB at that time but did not, and I went ahead. The equipment that was sent out (that I was charged for) is cheaply made and I get random phone calls most days with nobody on the other end (and no messages left if I don't answer). The bills were at least $10/month more than what I had with Century Link. After a few months I got to thinking maybe it WAS a scam, or at least misleading and deceptive business practices. Today I contacted Century Link and asked if they still have copper wire landline phone plans ... yes, they do, and I am switching back immediately. Aside from lying and stealing Century Link customers, Ring Planet seems to have good customer service when one has any questions, they did answer the phones quickly and all questions answered. I don't like their equipment and there is no option to buy better stuff elsewhere that will work on their system. I wanted to keep the wired phones in my home so that if the digital or cellular goes down I can still make calls.
