I was surprised to read an email from someone claiming to be the HR Manager from OCT Inc, named Yolanda Barber. "She" claimed to have an open, remote, Procurement Officer position available for immediate placement. Subject line "Great fit for our team, *my full name*." Email seemed flawless, professional, likely AI generated, and it included my Indeed profile as well. It explained the main parts of the job as expected, and that I would be receiving a laptop to work from. One thing that gave it away for me was the email address ended differently than actual businesses emails do. The email ended with a hyperlink to contact: [email protected]. I did not click the hyperlink.
