Description
Darkpick.com advertises various band merchandise on their website, including cardigan sweaters that are actually made by a company called "Middle Of Beyond" (abbreviated as MOB on their labels). The photos on the Darkpick.com website are apparently stolen from Middleofbeyond.com, as can be seen since they show MOB tags on them (see example here https://darkpick.com/products/iron-maiden-cardigan). As I was ordering a cardigan that was no longer available at MOB, I searched for other resellers and found darkpick.com. They seemed to have mixed reviews, but I took a chance as I was in a hurry for Christmas shopping. The first sign of trouble was that they missed their maximum shipping time of 7 days. When I contacted them to say I needed to cancel the order if it would not ship before Christmas, they began offering me discounts on more merchandise. After a few attempts to cancel the order, they sent me a shipping confirmation and I relented. The order eventually arrived and it was not even close to being a cardigan, let alone the cardigan I thought I had ordered. What I ordered were two MOB branded, knitted cardigans with different band art, patterned into the knitting. What I received were two flimsy, thin, nylon or polyester, jerseys, that had inkjet printed patterns on them to resemble stolen artwork from MOB. These are such bad knockoffs, that they sincerely do not qualify as knockoffs, because they are entirely different products. Nobody in their right mind would confuse these for cardigans, let alone original merchandise from MOB. Then the games really started. I complained and asked for a refund (the website advertises a 30 day refund guarantee). They refused it 4 times, trying to get me to keep the product and accept increasing discounts on future product purchases from their company. When I refused all of these offers, they finally told me I could only return the product to China, and that I would be forced to pay the shipping, import taxes, and fees, and that I would only be reimbursed once the items arrived and were inspected for resale. Meanwhile, the products had all shipped from 2834 E 27th Street in Vernon California, 91746. I have now contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute against the charge. But be warned, this company is running a bait and switch operation, selling poor counterfeit merchandise they advertise using other companies designs.
