Description
While searching for flights, a site called flightgorilla came up. From that site, I found a great deal on the flights I was looking at on a link to a site called faresme.com. Long story short, they confirmed that they could sell me 3 tickets and I would get them as e-tickets the day before the flight. Odd, but I stayed with it. The day before the flight I received an email that contained an e-ticket link. When I opened it I had an American Airlines confirmation number and 3 tickets with corresponding numbers. I went to the American Airlines site, was able to log in and confirm the confirmation number and the 3 tickets. I was able to select/upgrade seats and print boarding passes. I still felt a little uncomfortable as the representative kept calling me asking that I reply to the e-ticket email with "I agree". I called American Airlines customer service and explained my situation. The representative said that the tickets were paid for with multiple fraudulent customer credits that would not go through, and the tickets were "flagged". I was told that if we tried to board the plane with these tickets, we would be stopped and have to pay for the flights at the rate at that time or not be able to fly at all. It seems that Flightgorilla.com and Faresme.com are both scams working together and to be avoided. I am now working with my credit card company to dispute the charges.
